YardSaleHQ ("we," "us," or "our") operates the YardSaleHQ platform at yardsalehq.com. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly when you create an account or post a sale:

Account information: Email address and display name, provided during sign-up or via Google sign-in.
Sale listings: Street address, sale type, dates, hours, and optional description you enter when posting a sale.
Location data: We geocode the addresses you submit (convert them to latitude/longitude coordinates) using the Google Maps Geocoding API so we can display them on the map. If you allow it, we also use your device's location to center the map on your area and to check whether sales exist near you — if a visitor's area has no nearby listings, we log the general city (not exact coordinates or any information that identifies you) so we know where to focus outreach. We do not tie this to your account or identity.

We also collect limited technical data automatically:

Basic usage analytics via Google Analytics (page views, session duration). No personally identifiable information is tied to analytics data.
Authentication tokens managed by Firebase Authentication to keep you signed in.

How We Use Your Information

To display your sale listings on the public map so buyers can find them.
To authenticate your account and let you manage your own listings.
To improve the platform through aggregate usage analytics.
To respond to support requests if you contact us.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for advertising profiling.

Public Listings

Sale listings you post — including the address, dates, hours, and description — are visible to all users of YardSaleHQ, including visitors who are not signed in. Do not include sensitive personal information in your sale description.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services that may process your data under their own privacy policies:

Firebase (Google): Authentication and database storage. Firebase Privacy

Google Cloud Vision: Automated screening of uploaded photos for inappropriate content before publishing. Google Privacy Policy

Data Retention

Your sale listings remain on the platform until you delete them from the My Sales screen. Your account data is retained while your account is active. You may request full account deletion at any time.

Your Rights

You may:

Delete any of your sale listings at any time from the My Sales screen.
Request deletion of your account and all associated data by emailing us.
Request a copy of the data we hold about you.

Children's Privacy

YardSaleHQ is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
